Through the College Savings Initiative, CSD and the New America Foundation will examine innovative ways to create more inclusive 529 college savings plans. Ultimately, the aim is to increase post-secondary education access and completion rates among lower-income, disadvantaged students through changes in public policy and reforms to 529 college savings plans. This initiative, which is funded by the Lumina Foundation for Education and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, builds on CSD’s Inclusive 529 Savings Policy work to study and inform policy for college savings plans.
