October 15-16, 2009
Tallahassee, Florida
Tuskegee University, the Center for Social Development at Washington University in Saint Louis, and their partners in the Southern Regional Asset-Building Coalition hosted a conference to report on the state of the coalition, highlight policy advocacy work by partners and others in the region, and showcase potential asset-building research and outreach work at historically Black colleges and universities in the South. Conference participants discussed a wide range of issues pertaining to coalition development and strengthening, the basics of advocacy at state and local levels, policy actions for pre- and post-Gulf Coast hurricane survivors, and resources for asset-building policy work in the current economic crisis.
