Household Financial Capability and Economic Hardship: An Empirical Examination of the Financial Capability Framework

For financial well-being, which is more important: access to beneficial financial policies and services or sound financial knowledge?

Both are important for financial capability, but findings in this study suggest that opportunity may be more important than ability. Analyses of nationally representative data from the 2015 National Financial Capability Study point to implications for efforts to broaden financial inclusion.
