The Center for Social Development is committed to creating opportunities for low- and moderate-income households throughout the world to build assets. For example, the goal of "an account for every child on the planet," first articulated by CSD, appears in a growing number of international policy agendas. In July 2006, CSD and New America
Foundation's Asset Building Program launched the Global Assets Project (GAP) to inform and promote development of asset-building policies and programs worldwide. The most recent initiative is YouthSave
, a global consortium that is piloting a youth savings initiative in Colombia, Ghana, Kenya, and Nepal. The goal of this collaboration is to understand the conditions for sustainable delivery of savings products and services that can improve the life chances of low-income youth in the developing world.
