The Center for Social Development's work in Community Engagement has been centered on the development of two important projects: For The Sake of All and the Student-Parent Initiative.
The For the Sake of All project's goals are multidiscplinary. They focus on the ability to influence policy and to inform the general public about persistent health, economic and social disparities that affect people who live in the St. Louis region.
The Student-Parent Initiative investigates the social conditions and policy supports that will positively impact student-parents (or students in secondary and postsecondary education who are also parenting as they pursue their degrees). The initiative proposes to foster dialogue and research from a multi-disciplinary perspective.
