The global COVID-19 pandemic and numerous other social challenges have had devastating impacts on lives and livelihoods across the globe, exacerbating poverty, inequality, and other social challenges.

With abstracts from over 30 countries received and several exceptional keynote speakers confirmed you do not want to miss out on securing your place to participate. Sub-themes of the conference include climate change, racial and gender inequality, youth, families and child well-being, financial capability, institutional arrangements to foster social development, and social development innovations.

The Launch of FCAB Africa

Financial Capability and Asset Building in Africa (FCAB Africa) is a new strategic partnership among a diverse set of university researchers, social-work and human-service practitioners, financial-service providers, policymakers, and donors. This multinational collaboration seeks to broaden the financial capability of the continent’s vulnerable populations through financial inclusion and professional training. The July 15 event marking the launch of the FCAB Africa initiative occurs as part of the conference.

Financial Capability and Asset Building in China

Several conference sessions featured discussions by CSD affiliates. In the July 15 session “Building Financial Capability and Assets,” CSD Faculty Director Jin Huang moderated a panel of researchers, who presented findings on financial capability and asset building in China.
