Molly Tovar, EdD, is faculty director of Native Assets for the Center for Social Development and a faculty associate for the Kathryn M. Buder Center for American Indian Studies at the Brown School. Additionally, she is an advisory board member for the Red Earth Education Committee in Oklahoma City, the Ste. Genevieve Missouri French Colonial American and the Missouri American Indian Heritage Fund. She is also a member of the International Women’s Forum, the former director of the Kathryn M. Buder Center for American Indian Studies and former professor of practice at the Brown School. Prior to her work with Washington University in St. Louis, she was the chief operating officer for the American Indian Graduate Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and director of Leadership for the Bill & Melinda Gates Millennium Scholars program in Fairfax, Virginia. Tovar is recognized nationally for her expertise in strategies that ensure the success of underrepresented students in undergraduate and graduate education. Her current research focuses on American Indian and Alaska Native health and wellness issues faced by elders, the AI/AN veteran population, and financial capabilities for Native youth.
