CSD joins launch of Campaign for Every Kid’s Future

At the Center for Social Development (CSD), we believe that financial security should be lifelong, starting at birth and extending from childhood through adulthood. Today CSD is proud to join CFED and more than a dozen other partners in launching the Campaign for Every Kid’s Future.

Announced with former President Bill Clinton at the Clinton Global Initiative America convening in Denver, the Campaign for Every Kid’s Future will work to ensure that 1.4 million children have savings accounts for college by 2020. CSD Director Michael Sherraden joined Clinton, Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper, CFED President Andrea Levere, St. Louis Treasurer Tishaura Jones and others onstage.

At CSD, an experiment that models the first universal Child Development Account (CDA) policy in the United States is yielding promising results for parents and children, including improvements in mothers’ expectations for their children’s education. Margaret Clancy, CSD’s policy director and expert on college savings plans, and colleague Janie Oliphant were in attendance during the announcement.

We invite you to learn more about our research regarding children’s savings by visiting CSD’s website. You also may follow #savingsforkids on social media and visit the Campaign for Every Kid’s Future homepage.
