Join the Social Policy Institute and Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis for an in-person event co-sponsored with the Center for Social Development and other partners: “The Future of Building Wealth: Research, Policy & Action,” from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. (CT) on Oct. 11, 2022, with a reception following. The event included the co-editors of and select contributors to the book, The Future of Building Wealth: Brief Essays on the Best Ideas to Building Wealth—For Everyone. All attendees received a free copy of the book.

Two panel discussions featured several Future of Wealth authors and regional leaders putting these ideas into practice. The event concluded with a closing keynote reflection and a networking reception with complimentary drinks and hors d’oeuvres.

Speakers addressed:

  • The latest data and trends around wealth inequality in the United States;
  • Why the tax-filing moment is a golden opportunity to build savings and assets;
  • How Child Development Accounts can foster a future orientation and build lifelong assets;
  • An innovative community growth and “builders” program;
  • The promise of financial capability strategies for building stronger balance sheets; and
  • Cutting edge financial inclusion products and strategies.
