Sherraden receives Richard Lodge Prize

​CSD Director Michael Sherraden, PhD, was awarded the Richard Lodge Prize for 2015. He received the prize on May 8 at the Adelphi University School of Social Work’s annual Alumni and Friends Day. 

Sherraden was chosen for “his record of scholarship, his pioneering work on asset building in addressing poverty, family and community development, and his transformative contributions to social policy and social work practice both domestically and internationally,” Andrew Safyer, PhD, dean of the Alelphi’s School of Social Work, said in an announcement​ from the university in Garden City, N.Y.

The Lodge Prize is named for the late Richard Lodge, PhD, who was a leading social work educator and Adelphi University professor.
