Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) Utilization in Native Communities

The Earned income tax credit (EITC) is a sizeable tax credit that has been instrumental in lifting over four million people out of poverty each year. This study was conducted to gain a better understanding of ways in which EITC reciept might better assist Native families and communities to meet their economic needs. Data and findings from this study indicate a need for the deveopment of a variety of Native-foucsed financial products and services that enable EITC-eligible families to build assets with this receipt.
