The Southern Regional Asset Building Coalition 2013 conference, titled “Building a Lifetime of Economic Security: Mobilizing for Change,” drew a diverse group of leaders from community and faith-based organizations, representatives of financial institutions and government entities, policy advocates, researchers, and members of the public sector. Over three days, conference participants discussed challenges impeding economic growth in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida. In particular, attendees prioritized the development of policies and programs that support low-income families and communities. This conference report covers the topics and ideas discussed.
