CSD publishes new data on child savings

The Center for Social Development (CSD) announces the publication of the March 2009 SEED Account Monitoring research report. This report synthesizes over four years of data collected on 1,171 children and youth participating in SEED (Saving for Education, Entrepreneurship, and Downpayment), a policy, practice, and research initiative to test and inform a national child savings policy in the United States. CSD’s Account Monitoring research collected participant demographic data, and tracked cash flow of SEED accounts between 2004 and 2007. Research findings provide a picture of SEED participant characteristics, measure levels of savings, and identify factors associated with savings. (Click here for more information on child savings.)
