On August 18, the Center for Social Development received the College Kids Ambassador Award from the St. Louis Treasurer’s Office of Financial Empowerment.
The award is in recognition of CSD’s outstanding contributions in societal impact, service to youth and families, leadership in asset building and financial capability, and promotion of safe and affordable financial products.
“CSD is honored to be recognized in our own hometown, and we’re pleased to work with Treasurer Tishaura Jones and her staff on child accounts for all St. Louis Public School children,” said CSD Policy Director Margaret Clancy.
The Clark-Fox Family Foundation and 1st Financial Federal Credit Union also received the award during a ceremony celebrating the first anniversary of the Office of Financial Empowerment. Clancy attended the ceremony and accepted the award for CSD. “It is a particular honor for CSD to be recognized along with the Clark-Fox Family Foundation and 1st Financial Credit Union,” she said.
The office established the College Kids Ambassador Award this year to honor individuals and organizations whose achievements go beyond those recognized by traditional financial services awards. CSD has a large body of research informing universal Child Development Accounts across the United States and in other countries.
