In Africa and elsewhere, public health measures implemented during the COVID 19 pandemic heightened financial vulnerability. Analyzing data from the World Bank 2019 Global Findex database, the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, and African governments, this study examines the connection between country-level financial resilience and the duration of such pandemic measures.
